Set Up Shipping

Learn how to create shipping profiles, zones and rates for your PlanetShopping online store.

Purpose

Shipping settings control where you ship and what customers are charged for delivery. PlanetShopping lets you create shipping profiles, assign products, define shipping origins and zones, set custom rates and manage carrier accounts.

What You’ll Learn

  • You’ll learn how to open Shipping and delivery, manage shipping profiles, create shipping zones, add rates and conditions, and review carrier accounts.

Before You Begin

Decide which countries or regions you will ship to and how much you want to charge customers. Have your shipping origin information ready.

Step 1 – Open Shipping and Delivery

From your Merchant Panel, select Setting, then select Shipping and delivery.

Step 2 – Review or Create a Shipping Profile

Under Custom Shipping Rates, select Manage to edit an existing shipping profile. To create another profile, select Create new profile.

A shipping profile can have its own Shipping Name, products, shipping origins, shipping zones and rates.

Step 3 – Assign Products

Inside the shipping profile, use Add products when the profile should apply only to selected products. When no products are selected, the shipping profile applies to all products.

Step 4 – Review the Shipping Origin

Under Shipping origins, confirm the location from which products in the profile are shipped. This connects the profile to the appropriate business location.

Step 5 – Create Shipping Zones

Under Shipping zones, select Create zone to define a destination area you ship to. Shipping zones can cover the countries or regions you want to serve.

Step 6 – Add a Shipping Rate

Within a shipping zone, select Add Rate. Enter a customer-friendly Rate name and the Price customers should be charged at checkout.

To control when the rate applies, select Add Condition and configure the required condition. This lets you create different rates for different order ranges.

Select Save when finished.

Step 7 – Edit or Delete Rates

Use the menu beside an existing rate to select Edit Rate or Delete Rate. Review your rates whenever your shipping costs or delivery strategy changes.

Step 8 – Manage Carrier Accounts

The Shipping and delivery page also includes Carrier accounts. Use Create Carrier Account to add a carrier account, or use the edit and delete controls beside an existing carrier account.

Step 9 – Test Checkout

Add representative products to the cart and test customer addresses in the shipping zones you created. Confirm that the expected shipping rate and charge appear at checkout.

Note

Start with a simple shipping structure that is easy for customers to understand and for your business to fulfil. Add additional profiles, zones and rate conditions as your shipping needs grow.

Tips & Best Practices

Use clear rate names customers will understand at checkout. Keep shipping zones aligned with the destinations you can reliably serve. Avoid overlapping rate conditions that could produce unexpected charges. Review your shipping profiles whenever you add new products, locations or markets.
